Spots that match my skin tone until I start Tanning in the sun.?
I have this pigmentation problem where there are a couple irregular shaped spots on my left shoulder that are not visible until I start tanning. Once my skin color changes, the spots show up and remain as my original skin tone. They won’t change color no matter how long or how often I stay in the sun. The tanner I get the more visible they become. What is it and how can I get rid of them?
Hello,
From the symptoms it looks like pityriasis versicolor. It is a common skin infection caused by the yeast Malassezia furfur. This skin disease commonly affects adolescents and young adults, especially in warm and humid climates. Treatment involves topical and oral antifungal medicines.
You can try over the counter antifungal products which contain any of several basic ingredients: miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral.
If the symptoms persist then it will be best to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Hope it helps.take care and regards.
I’m on meds that make my skin extremely sensitive to the sun and Tanning beds. My skin is looking ghostly right now (veins are starting to show through), and I’m looking for some modestly priced Tanning Options, but I’m completely new to this. I’d like to try a lotion maybe, but I don’t know which ones are good and which ones are crap. Any suggestions?
The best one is Dove energy glow. It makes your skin really tan!!
Im going to a Tanning Salon on Sunday and I want a really dark tan. Which option will provide a darker tan and is a better option….. Sunless tanning automatically done automatically by a machine, i think its callled Mystic, or Airbrush Sunless Tanning done by a person, both at the tanning both? Thank you so much
Spray Tanning by a technician. If the color is not as dark as you want they can adjust it. You also get more of a customized tan with a technician. Most Booths only use one brand of solution. If that solution does not look good on you, or if its orange, there is nothing that can be done. Your tan time after time will look the same. Should you forget to turn….you will be a mess. Booths are not bad, I just prefer a live person. You will not know if you will like the Booth until you try it.
If you are looking for a great at home Self Tanner, try Lasting Envy: Spray Tan In A Can by EnvyTan. You will get a nice even bronze tan, that will look very natural. You can spray a second time if you do not feel you are dark enough.
